R2 Gain an Hour weekend 2014
R2's tenth Gain an Hour weekend took place over the weekend of 24th-26th October. The venue was Ullapool on the northwest coast of Scotland. This was our first 'Gain an Hour' and it quickly became obvious why this is such a popular event in the R2 calendar. Some members even arrived early on the Thursday night in order to enjoy the drive planned for Friday. This year the PCGB 356 was available for members to drive and it has to be said that it was never off the road - so keen were members to take the opportunity to drive the club's iconic classic.
We arrived on Friday just in time to get some photos en-route to Ullapool, and of members returning to the hotel after their drive to the north of Ullapool (route below left). The Saturday drive took us south on incredible roads through breathtaking scenery (route below right).
